Time to get those taste buds ready: we’re going to be taking an in depth look at the popcorn from Popcornopolis in our extensive taste test review. We’ve heard good things about this brand and were excited to try them out for you today!
Before we dived into the tasting, we wanted to get an idea of Popcornopolis and find out more about them. Looking through their website, there’s no doubt in our minds they have a mission to create tasty popcorn.

With their nostalgic messaging and passion for a mouth-watering experience, we were excited to find out if they lived up to the hype.
You can purchase Popcornopolis at a variety of locations including grocery stores, amusement parks, sports venues, and theaters. But the biggest selection by fair was always going to be their online store, which is where we headed to.
Placing An Order
Before we did anything, we had to make a very important decision: which flavors should we choose?
Popcornopolis come in a wide variety of flavors that cater to a lot of people’s preferences. They have all of the classic flavors like dark chocolate, cookies and cream, and caramel. But we were intrigued to discover they had so much more: what was Cheddar Cheese?
Or how about Zebra popcorn? It took us a while, but eventually we picked from the 19 different flavors to try, and we were ready to get going.
One of the great features of ordering from their online store is the number of packaging choices you have. We went for the cone option which is sold in packs of four, and in terms of sizes you can go with mini, regular, and jumbo sizes.
Based on the four pack deal that was running, we went with this option. Along with popcorn, they also offer a range of snacks; from candied apples, nuts, and chocolate in case you wanted something different. We stuck with what we knew best and received the package a few days later.
One quick mention: we had to comment on the ordering process. Sometimes ordering from an online store can be tricky, as many of the popcorn products come in different sizes and packaging requirements for gifts, but we found the user experience to be simple.
Packaging
The products we purchased all came with the same designed packaging and noticed the cute design. Each of our popcorn bags was shaped like a large cone which reminded us of popcorn you can but at carnivals.
And that design works on the packaging. Wow! It looks wonderful with the red, white and yellow color scheme! Overall the presentation was beautiful and the design team at Popcornopolis have done a spectacular job.
Our first hurdle was actually getting into the popcorn, and one thing that we weren’t sold on was how to open the top of the bag.
It was a little fiddly to get into the popcorn, and eventually we gave up and used scissors by cutting a straight line through the top of the bag. It isn’t the best iea if you want to eat a small portion and save the rest for later.
If you’re more determined than us then be sure to make the most of the resealable option that we gave up on, as each pack comes with a twist-tie to keep the popcorn fresh for up to 3 months.
Oh, and if anyone can keep hold of popcorn for 3 months, please write in and tell us how you did it!
The last point to note on packaging was how it held the popcorn as we ate it. The cone shaped design helped to store the popcorn effectively, and we didn’t have any issues with popcorn falling out which we find happens frequently with square-shaped popcorn packaging.
One thing to note though is that the cones are rather large and would be difficult to store in a cupboard, owing to their long dimension.
Flavor & Taste
Popcornopolis have a variety of flavors, and whilst we would love to have tried them all, we narrowed it down to these four flavors: SnickerDoodle, Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow, Jalapeno Cheddar, and Caramel Corn.
We’ve already touched on how we appreciated the diversity in flavor, and we like brands that go beyond traditional flavors of popcorn like chocolate, toffee, and the standard salt and sweet. We looked forward to the original flavors like Jalapeno and Cheddar, so let’s get on to the taste test.

We opened up the four cones, poured them onto a plate, and took our time to taste each one. And our verdict? Overall, they were all super tasting! The Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow was delicious and immediately reminded us of cold winter nights with hot cocoa.
The Jalapeno Cheddar flavor was excellent and took us back to our favorite Mexican joint bak home. The Jalapenos were hot if you were wondering, so be wary before attempting this flavor and go slow, and the cheese taste was super creamy.
The caramel flavor was made perfectly and tasted just like caramel popcorn should. It was smooth, sweet, and didn’t stick to the backs of our teeth.
We liked SnickerDoodle, however one thing we noticed was that the flavor was a little overpowering and was a bit salty for our tasting. However this was personal preference, and if you like a combination of salt, sweet and sugary snacks, you won’t be offended by this option and will probably enjoy it as much as the others.
In terms of texture, the popcorn from all of the flavors were reasonably soft and easy to chew. This was one of our favorite parts about the Popcornopolis brand, as hard popcorn is tough to break down and doesn’t have a great texture.
Overall we were impressed with all of the flavors, and Popcornopolis has done a job of representing the flavor they have labeled on the packaging.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Finding a popcorn that uses the highest quality of ingredients can be tricky, as many companies choose cheaper to keep costs down. Popcornopolis uses all-natural ingredients, and it was also cool to learn that their recipes are certified Kosher and many of the options were vegetarian-friendly.
We wanted to see if they catered to vegans as well, as we weren’t sure if any were suitable for them as Popcornopolis uses dairy in their products. So we did some research and were satisfied to find that two flavors were suitable for vegans: the Kettle flavor and their nearly naked popcorn range.
The products we tried were gluten-free and free from GMOs. And as far as our research goes, this is the same for all of their flavors barring a few options that don’t quite use all-natural ingredients.
Now for nutritional information. The SnickerDoodle was 130 calories per 26 gram serving, contains 5 grams of fat and 19 grams of carbohydrates.

The Hot Cocoa Marshmallow option was 130 calories per 28-gram serving, with 6 grams of fat and 21 grams of carbohydrates, whilst the Jalapeno Cheddar flavor was 190 calories per serving, with 14 grams of fat and 10 grams of carbohydrates.
Finally, the Caramel Corn contained 130 calories per 28-gram serving, with 6 grams of fat and 18 grams of carbohydrates. There were no nasty surprises, and the calorie content per serving was about average for this product.
All of the products we tried contained 0 grams of trans fat, which makes this a worthwhile option for those looking for a healthy option. All of the typical ingredients used to make popcorn were found here, such as sugar, syrup, vanilla extract, salt, baking soda, and soy lecithin.
Our Verdict
If you’re looking for the best companion for movie night, or a light snack for after dinner, look no further than the Popcornopolis range.
This would make a wonderful gift during the holiday season, or as a subtle but romantic gesture on Valentine’s Day. We think this range would be perfect for everyone in the family to enjoy, although make sure the flavor is suitable for a youngster as we can’t imagine they’d enjoy spicy jalapeno that much!
Our personal favorite was the Cocoa & Marshmallow, closely followed by Caramel Corn, Jalapeno And Cheddar and then Snickerdoodle.
The popcorn was of high quality and cooked to perfection. It wasn’t too chewy but still had a delectable crunch. It wasn’t hard but retained a deliciously soft texture.
Overall we loved the taste of all the popcorn we tried and barring a slightly salty batch with the SnickerDoodle, this would be a fantastic option for anyone looking to try their next brand of popcorn.
The packaging was well thought out and they won bonus points for designing a wonderful-looking product. The cone shape allows for the freshest of popcorn and avoids unnecessary spillage if you are sharing between more than one person.
If we had to nitpick, the one downside would be opening the packaging as we struggled to break the top of it without having to use scissors to get the job done, which isn’t ideal if you are the sort of person who likes to save snacks for multiple occasions.
Overall Popcornopolis has delivered a marvelous tasting experience and we give them two thumbs up!
